From One Tractor to Six Crushing Plants
What started in 1992 with a single family tractor and a 10th-grader who wouldn't wait for someone else to build the business has grown into a multi-vertical infrastructure group operating across Maharashtra.
The Beginning One Tractor, One Teenager
Started supplying building materials in Yavatmal using a single family-owned tractor. No office, no fleet, no employees. Just a tractor, a supplier network built door by door, and a 10th-grade student who decided that waiting to finish school wasn't part of the plan.
First Government Contracts
Entered government contracting through Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad projects. The relationships built while supplying building materials opened doors to construction work that nobody else with a tractor was bidding on. Started with Zhari Jamani Panchayat Samiti, scaled to PWD and Irrigation Department projects. Operations grew from village level to Taluka level, beginning in Pandharkawada, then across the entire Yavatmal district.
Entered Real Estate Development
Three to four years of farming experience taught the land side of the business. Started buying, developing, and selling agricultural land profitably. That evolved into residential plotting and township development. Developed "Swapnashil Developers and Builders" township in Pandharkawada. Partnered in Western Mall, Yavatmal. Expanded real estate across Pandharkawada, Yavatmal, Amravati, Paratwada, Chikhaldara, and Nagpur.
Toll Plaza Management Begins
Partnered with the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to manage highway toll plazas. At peak, Shriram Group operated 13 toll plazas simultaneously across Maharashtra. Key locations included Deogaon, Nandgaon, Parbhani, Ghoti, Rahuri, and Badnera. Later exited toll operations strategically to focus capital and management on crushing plants and construction.
First Crusher Plant Established
Built the first stone crusher plant to supply aggregate for our own construction projects, eliminating the dependence on third-party suppliers whose quality and delivery we couldn't control. This single decision changed the economics and quality of every project that followed.
First Hot Mix Plant for Roads
Set up the first Hot Mix plant, adding bituminous road surfacing capability to the existing earthwork and granular layer construction. With own aggregate supply and now own asphalt production, the full road construction chain was under one roof.
Second Crusher Plant, Dhamangaon
Opened the second crusher plant in Dhamangaon, doubling production capacity and extending the supply radius. This was the point where Shriram Group stopped being a single-plant operation and started building the network that today covers six locations.
Crane Service Division Launched
Started crane services because reliable, professional crane operators simply didn't exist locally for our own construction needs. Rather than keep hiring from outside and hoping they'd show up, we bought the first crane and trained the crew ourselves. Started with 1 crane, now operating 9 cranes covering a 300 km service radius across Vidarbha.
Six Plants, Full Expansion Mode
Focused heavily on expanding the stone crusher operations to six fully updated, 6-stage plants. Operations now cover the Telangana border, Pimpal Khuti, and Amravati, with plans for linking plants, brick plants, paver block plants, hume pipes, and Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plants.
